SGL Thanksgiving 2020 Playoff Scenarios


Thanksgiving SGL Special! In this COVID year, I am especially thankful for the SGL and fantasy football because, frankly, without the SGL and FF I would have offed myself sometime in September. If you’d like to add to your scenario, please write in; there is too much ballgame left.


NOBODY IS ELIMINATED FROM THE PLAYOFFS.


Let’s start with the least likely. 


Justin’s Jackalopes(3-8)


Jaycee’s Jackalopes needs:

  • To win out- beating both Dragons and Hound Dogs

  • Hound Dogs to lose both games and outscore

  • Wizards to lose both games and outscore

  • Swans to win this week(Peas), lose next (Bulldogs) and 

  • Gamblers to lose either both weeks or can win 1 but Jackalopes will need to outscore Gamblers

  • Juleps lose both games(Skulls & Dragons) and outscore Juleps 

    • Jackalope ideal bottom 4: 

      • Hound Dogs

      • Gamblers

      • Swans

      • Juleps/Wizards/Peas/Beasts


Grant’s Gamblers(3-8) needs:

  • To win out- beating both Bulldogs and Fire Ants

  • Hound Dogs to lose both games and outscore

  • Wizards to lose both games and outscore

  • Swans to win this week(Peas), lose next (Bulldogs) and 

  • Jackalopes to lose either both weeks or can win 1 but Jackalopes will need to outscore Jackalopes

  • Juleps lose both games(Skulls & Dragons) and outscore Juleps 

    • Gambler ideal bottom 4: 

      • Hound Dogs

      • Jackalopes

      • Swans

      • Juleps/Wizards/Peas/Beasts


Sean’s Swans(4-7) needs:

  • To win out- beating both Peas and Bulldogs

    • Or win 1 and a lot of ppl lose (not likely)

  • Hound Dogs to lose both games

  • Wizards to lose both games

  • Jackalopes to lose at least 1 game

  • Gamblers to lose at least 1 game

  • Juleps lose both games(Skulls & Dragons) and outscore Juleps 

    • Swans ideal bottom 4:

      • Could have:

Wizards

  • Win out(Fire Ants & Skulls) and Zards are in

  • Win one of remaining: Fire Ants and Skulls

    • Then outscore others- Hound Dogs, Beasts(assuming they go 0-2), Peas(assuming they go 0-2), Juleps(assuming they go 0-2)

  • Ideal bottom 4:

Sobey’s Snappin’ Peas

  • Win out and in

  • Win one(Swans and Beasts) then outscore others

  • Ideal bottom 4:

    • Hounds/Zards/Juleps/Beasts

Jack’s Mint Juleps

  • Win one or more and in

Boister’s Beasts

  • Win one or more and in



As I wrote this I realized how complex it is and there are so many moving parts. If you win, you’re safe, if you don’t, you’re screwed. Happy Thanksgiving! Down to the Beasts!

2022 SGL Cup Playoffs: Round 1

It's the most wonderful time of the year! The weather is getting colder, Christmas is coming up, and the 2022 SGL Cup Playoffs are officially here. We have some teams familiar with playing football late into December and some trying to make this more of a holiday tradition! Let's take a look at the 8-maids-a-milking and see which 4 might come up sour.  1.  Walter's Wizards (9-5) Proj: 126.2 vs 8. CDMX Bulldogs (7-7) Proj: 123.1 Congratulations to Walter's Wizards for securing the 1 seed in the 2022 SGL Cup Playoffs. The Wizards went on quite the hot streak to end the season, winning 4/5 and only posting less than 121 once. This is the second time in franchise history- '13; in '13, the Wizards defeated Grant's Gamblers in a way too close, 122-121. The Wizards have faced the Bulldogs 3x, actually, and are (2-1) against them in the playoffs. Most famously, this is a rematch of the 2015 SGL Cup Championship, where the Wizards defeated Juan In A Million 152-94. T
