Road to 2023 SGL Cup Playoffs It's the most wonderful time of the year! The weather is getting colder, Christmas is coming up, and the 2023 SGL Playoffs are right around the corner- I can almost taste the car bombs! The Monday night drama leaves a few teams with an easier path and several with a path that isn’t impossible! Let’s take a look: Grant's Gamblers (6-7) Proj: 110.2 Vs Norwich City Dragons (5-8) Proj: 103.1 Grant’s Gamblers: Win Clinch Lose In with a Bulldog loss OR Jackalope loss Norwich City Dragons Win Must win and either Jackalope OR Gambler loss Would also need to outscore Jackalope by 74 Would also need to outscore Gambler by 62 Lose Eliminated Jack’s Mint Juleps* (7-6) Proj: 120.1 Vs Jaycee’s Jackalopes (6-7) Proj: 112.0 Jaycee’s Jackalopes: Win Clinch Lose In with a Gambler loss OR Bulldog loss Sobey’s Snappin’ Peas (8-5) Proj: 116.2 Vs CDMX Bulldogs (6-7) Proj 103.5 CDMX Bulldogs: Win Must win and a Jackalope OR Gambler loss Lose Eliminated Fire Ants(8-5) P

Opinion: SGL Cup Defending Champion, Skulls

Opinion: A Champions Cheers to the Playoffs Submitted by Stull’s Skulls, defending SGL Cup Champion We have ourselves a pretty large trophy in the SGL I mean the thing fits a whole bowl of cereal, better part of a six pack of Busch Light and wood siding capable of fitting 24 years worth of champions. No weight be heavier than carrying it into a new season in the quest of a back to back. Sure, sure, sure I was third in PF and had to run into the largest PA but the Skulls had just a good of chance of makin the playoffs as the Broncos, whom I bought way too much into and did too little too late to make moves to get in the playoffs but heres to the franchises that did make the playoffs. Wizards. Your endless shit talk wasn’t the only thing to hurt teams this season, your QB1 overall did a pretty damn good job too. Way to get your money back on the season hopefully you can use it to buy some thicker steaks. Swans. Look how far you’ve come Swan from a two time Round Risen participant to a se

2022 SGL Cup Playoffs: Round 1

It's the most wonderful time of the year! The weather is getting colder, Christmas is coming up, and the 2022 SGL Cup Playoffs are officially here. We have some teams familiar with playing football late into December and some trying to make this more of a holiday tradition! Let's take a look at the 8-maids-a-milking and see which 4 might come up sour.  1.  Walter's Wizards (9-5) Proj: 126.2 vs 8. CDMX Bulldogs (7-7) Proj: 123.1 Congratulations to Walter's Wizards for securing the 1 seed in the 2022 SGL Cup Playoffs. The Wizards went on quite the hot streak to end the season, winning 4/5 and only posting less than 121 once. This is the second time in franchise history- '13; in '13, the Wizards defeated Grant's Gamblers in a way too close, 122-121. The Wizards have faced the Bulldogs 3x, actually, and are (2-1) against them in the playoffs. Most famously, this is a rematch of the 2015 SGL Cup Championship, where the Wizards defeated Juan In A Million 152-94. T

2022 SGL Season- (late)Midterm Report Cards

Week 10 is over. There are 4 weeks left in the season. There have been some shocking moves and unfortunate losses- as there are with every fantasy season. Let's walk through each team and see what moves and gambles worked and which didn't and where they're likely to finish now. Sobey's Snappin' Peas (2-7) - grade? F (2%) Last year's darling team was a favorite coming out of the draft. He walked away with what was widely considered the 1.01 with Jonathan Taylor($76), then surrounded him with Leonard Fournette ($43) and Najee Harris. Jonathan Taylor has not had a game above 16 points since week 1. JT has had only 3 double-digits.  Najee Harris($55) was BENCHED last week. There are some scary correlations between Najee to Trent Richardson online. Najee has yet to have 14 points in a single week.                                         Jaycee's Jackalopes (4-6)  C (27%) Tyreek Hill ($38, PRK 1) is averaging 23ppg, and he has been the best pick of the draft. 2021 SGL Thanksgiving Special Report

We are 11 weeks into a 14-week regular season, and the SGL Cup Playoff table is nearly set. 3 teams have made their plates and are ready to feast, leaving 7 teams playing musical chairs with 5 spots. This season has seen ups, downs, blowouts, and less than 1 point wins. Grant's Gamblers(2-9) were unfortunately eliminated last week. This is their 5th time to miss in the previous 7 years.  CDMX Bulldogs(3-8)  are also eliminated from the SGL Cup Playoffs. After the King Henry injury, the Bulldogs have been in a tailspin. This is the first time in 3 years the Bulldogs have not finished in the top 3. It was an awe-inspiring run. This is also only the SECOND TIME EVER the Bulldogs have missed the playoffs- 2016 & 2021. The 2021 Bulldogs have the least amount of transactions- 9. Their biggest splash was a $37 bid for Damien Williams once David Montgomery went out. Unfortunately, Khalil Herbert outplayed Damien, and the Bulldogs were left without an RB2. The Bulldogs also dropped Eli

2020 SGL Playoffs: Round 1 Preview

Alright. It feels like yesterday a beer cart was arriving in the SGL Draftroom, and this weekend begins the playoffs. Now here's what you came here for. The 2020 SGL Playoffs are here, and I'm excited to walk through these matchups.  1. Norwich City Dragons (10-3) Proj: 126.8 vs 8. Blaster's Hound Dogs (7-6) Proj: 136.4 This is an old rivalry in the SGL. A rematch of the 2012 SGL Championship. The Dragons bested the Hounds in week 10, 127.7-92.3. The Dragons have held a commanding grip on the 1 seed all season- at one point winning 6 in a row. The Dragons are 9-6 all-time against the Hounds, and though both teams are part of the original 6, this will be only the second time they've faced each other in the playoffs. The Hounds have essentially been in the playoffs the last 2 weeks, finding themselves in must-win games and rising to the occasion. [X]- Factor: Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins. If Kyler’s shoulder is healthy and he can run successfully, the Dragons of wee

And then, there were 8. This past week saw what we see every year. A couple of teams floating around on the bubble that must win to get in. This year we had 2 spots remaining for 3 teams, and when the music stopped, the Beasts found themselves without a chair and back in the Round Risen for the second year in a row. The Snappin' Peas defiantly snapped the Beasts for the second time this season, 123.2 to 68.7.  The Beasts-one of the original 6- is back in the Round Risen for the 4th time in franchise history- '14, '15, '19, '20. How did they get there? This was a team that started the first month 3-1. They then went on to lose 4 out of 5 games. When I look back at the Beasts season, 2 games stand out. In week 2, a loss to the Snappin' Peas 108.4- 107.88 was an absolute heartbreaker. Will Fuller (PED dude) goosed, and Dak Prescott(Pea) led a massive comeback against the Falcons, posting 39.8 in the process. The other game was last week's devasting loss 155.9-1
